About

Hakim Jemaa is a Ph.D. student in the Communication Theory Lab (CTL) under the supervision of Professor Mohamed-Slim Alouini and Professor Tareq Al-Naffouri at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

Education

Hakim Jemaa studied mathematics and physics at the Tunis Preparatory Engineering Institute and was among the top 1% in the Tunisian national exam for entering engineering universities in 2017. In 2020, he received his diplôme d’ingénieur with first-class honors in multidisciplinary engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie. In 2020, he graduated with first-class honors, earning a diplôme d'ingénieur in multidisciplinary engineering from the prestigious École Polytechnique de Tunisie. Continuing his pursuit, he completed a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from KAUST in 2022.

Early Career

Before joining the MS/Ph.D. program at KAUST, Hakim Jemaa gained valuable research experience as a visiting student at KAUST, working under the mentorship of Professors Tareq Al-Naffouri and Mohamed-Slim Alouini. His expertise extends to Data Science, where he contributed to developing technical products during several internships. A passionate, competitive programmer, Hakim ranked among the top 10 in the Tunisian National Competitive Programming Contest and represented Tunisia in the African Regional Competitive Programming Contest in 2019. That same year, he was recognized as one of Tunisia's top 15 engineering students and was selected to participate in Huawei's prestigious "Seeds for the Future" program.

Research Interest

Hakim is interested in the field of communication engineering, specifically in ultra-massive MIMO systems and data detection and coding under THz communications. Hakim is experienced in data science and programming with C++ and Matlab.
