Faculty Positions 2024
The Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences (AMCS) program in the Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Division (https://cemse.kaust.edu.sa<https://cemse.kaust.edu.sa/>) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may be considered). The AMCS program contributes to developing mathematical frameworks and methodologies to foster economic prosperity and enhance the quality of life through the power of applied mathematics.
Priority will be given to candidates in the areas of Mathematical Foundations of Data Science and Applied Probability. All relevant areas to Applied Mathematics and Computational Sciences will also be considered, including but not limited to Applied Analysis, Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Optimization. All relevant research areas of Computer Science will be considered, with a primary interest on: Artificial Intelligence (preferably with a focus on NLP), Resiliency and Cybersecurity, Computer Systems and Networking, Future Computing Paradigms, and High Performance Computing.

- Power Electronics & Power Systems, including Wide Bandgap Semiconductors, Solid-State Transformers, Power Electronics for Electric Mobility, Modular Multilevel Converters, Wireless Power Transfer, High-Efficiency Power Converters, Advanced Power Management for Space and Aerospace, Advanced Control Algorithms and AI Integration, Energy Storage Systems, Smart Grid Technologies.
- Robotic and Autonomous Systems, including soft robotics, applicable in infrastructure monitoring, underwater exploration, smart manufacturing, precision agriculture, and healthcare.
- Analog Integrated Circuits, focusing on low-power and high-precision interface circuits, hardware for Machine Learning and AI, data converters, and EDA, especially in harsh environments or power circuits.

The STAT program (see https://stat.kaust.edu.sa) consists of 8 core faculty members from 7 countries, one instructional professor, about 40 MS and PhD students, 5 research scientists and 15 Postdocs.
We seek a candidate that could complement the current research profiles in the program, which currently has research groups in Bayesian computational statistics and modeling, Bayesian deep learning, biostatistics, environmental statistics, extreme statistics, geospatial statistics and health surveillance, spatio-temporal statistics and data science, and stochastic processes and applied statistics.
