The sensors are made to translate the world in which we live in order to understand it. At KAUST, I can focus on how to make this understanding even more reliable and accurate through instrumentation.

José Ilton is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program, at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). José is focused on instrumentation, prototyping, and communication theory.

Education and Early Career

José Ilton did his bachelor’s in electrical engineering on the track of Power Systems at Federal University of Piaui with 1.5-year exchange period at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, in 2015. At King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) he did his master’s in electrical engineering on the topic of Simultaneous Lightwave Information and Power Transfer (SLIPT). He is now pursuing his PhD also at KAUST, in the topics of instrumentation and underwater communication systems.

Research Interests

José’s research interests are found in the area of instrumentation, prototyping and communication systems. His aim is develop a cheap and reliable underwater network system.
