Khalid El Abd is currently a M.S. student Graduand at Sapienza University, Rome, Italy. He has been selected for the Visiting Students Research Program offered by KAUST. During his Internship, he is conducting his research at the Sensors Lab, in the Electrical Engineering Department, CEMSE, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). 

Education and Early Career

Khalid El Abd obtained the B.S. from the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Major in Clinical Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. After starting his M.S., in Biomedical Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome, he has been selected for one out of two ‘’Study Abroad Shared-Scholarship with Temple University’’ awarded by Sapienza University to study for 1 academic year at the ‘’College of Engineering’’ Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Research Interests

Khalid El Abd is interested in the study of Biomaterials and their broad biomedical potential applications. In particular, developing a deep understanding of Biomaterials in order to design next generation biomedical devices and sensors for diagnostics and study the interaction between Biomaterials and the human body-cells, for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Approaches.
