Chi-Han Peng was a Research Scientist working with Professor Peter Wonka at the Visual Computing Center (VCC) in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). He is an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) at ShanghaiTech University.
Education and Early Career
Before joining KAUST, Dr. Peng was a postdoctoral research associate at University College London (UCL), working with Prof. Niloy Mitra. He worked at Nogle, a private company based in Taipei, on the 3D modeling and simulation of real-world clothes for the fashion/garment industries.
He received his doctoral in Computer Science from Arizona State University. His thesis, Connectivity Control for Quad-Dominant Meshes, was supervised by Prof. Peter Wonka. During his Ph.D. studies, Chi-Han also took a summer internship at Adobe ATL (supervised by Dr. Nathan Carr and Radomir Mech) and visited KAUST, Saudi Arabia, and TU Vienna, Austria, for research collaborations.
Prior to his Ph.D. study, he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Science from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in Taiwan. He worked at CyberLink, the maker of PowerDVD video players, as a software engineer for four years. He was also the co-founder of an online taxi carpooling service serving the Taipei metropolitan area.
