Visiting students:
Our lab welcomes visiting students (3rd Year and above Baccalaureate or Masters Students) in the fields of Optoelectronics from 3 month to 6 months. In the VSRP program, we provide monthly stipend 1,000 USD, private bedroom/bathroom, visa and airfare fees, health insurance, access to Core laboratories and major research and community facilities. Prospective candidates can likely publish their results in prestigious scientific venues and get enrolled in the Ph.D program in Integrated Photonics Lab.

Ph.D students
We are looking for highly motivated Ph. D students with academic background in Optoelectronics, Physics, Material Science, or other related areas. If you are interested in joining our lab, please send your CV, TOEFL score (if applicable), research or work experiences, and transcripts (with GPA and/or GPA ranking) to Dr. Yating Wan at yating.wan@kaust.edu.sa a, I‘d be happy to chat ahead of your applications.
Qualifications We Require
- GPA higher than 3.75 or top 10% ranking in the department
- Highly motivated
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in English
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience with numerical modelling and simulation (Lumerical, comsol, etc.)
- Experience with optical and electrical device characterization
- Experience with cleanroom facilities specialized in integrated photonics process
- Publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and external presentations at scientific conferences
We provide
- Full-time scholarship which is worth approximately $75,000 USD a year!
