Saturday, January 10 was the last of the six days of the Conference on Advances in Uncertainty Quantification Methods, Algorithm and Application (UQAW2016) organized by SRI Center for Uncertainty Quantification in Computational Science and Engineering of KAUST directed by Prof. Raul Tempone. This is the 4th consecutive year that KAUST is holding the UQAW annual event dedicated to reporting on the state-of-the-art and latest advances in the methods used to quantify the calculation uncertainties. The aim of the discussion forum in exchanging information on innovative algorithm design as well as their practical applications and performances in experimental settings.
The conference represents an opportunity for experts to meet and collaborate. It was also a prominent chance for students starting their careers in science who at UQAW have the chance to get involved in top-notch research and discuss with experts from all over the world. The conference is also a venue for studentship positions hunting (for more information on the studentships: goo.gl/p9oAw2 and goo.gl/9vjHUl ).
This year, 75 contributions in the form of both oral and poster presentation populated the event. The Conference also featured 20 invited talks from authors of the Center for Uncertainty Quantification and diverse international affiliations such as United States, Germany, Canada, France, Greece and UK, just to name a few.
