Computational Bioscience Research Center (CBRC) would like to congratulate Stefan Arold for being promoted to the rank of Professor, effective July 1, 2018. Stefan obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Montpellier in France before holding faculty positions at Centre de Biochemie Structurale (CBS) and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the U.S.A. He joined KAUST as an associate professor in 2013, and then CBRC shortly after. His work focuses on elucidating the molecular basis of the function and (de)regulation of proteins central to the key cellular signaling networks. Stefan has authored and co-authored around 70 publications to date. He leads the Structural Biology and Engineering Lab, which uses the whole spectrum of structural biology tools applied to life sciences. Stefan is widely recognized as one of the few experts in this field in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
