We are happy to share the achievement of KAUST students, Kerven Durdymyradov and Charles Edward Sexton, at the Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students (OMOUS-2024) held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, from March 3-8, 2024. In the individual competition over 500 contestants from from Bulgary, China, Indonesia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan competed, and more than 50 teams competed in the team competition. KAUST Alumnus Michal Mankowski's first encounter with KAUST was in 2015 when he joined the university as a VSRP student. Then, in 2016, he started his Ph.D. program and defended it in the year 2020, and then he continued as a Pos tdoc under prof. Mikhail Moshkov. He worked on multi-objective optimization and applied operations research in the healthcare domain. Together with his PI, they published a book describing a novel framework on multi-objective optimization using dynamic programming (2021).
