CBRC students Sakhaa and Sara win SAAI special prize

CBRC congratulates Sakhaa Alsaedi and Sara Althubaiti for being selected as one of the winners in the SAAI special prize winners category for their project SentiMo.

CBRC congratulates Sakhaa Alsaedi and Sara Althubaiti for being selected as one of the winners in the SAAI special prize winners category for their project SentiMo.

Sakhaa is a Ph.D student in the Comparative Genomics and Genetics Group & Structural and Functional Bioinformatics Group under the supervision of Distinguished Professor Takashi Gojobori & Professor Xin Gao. Sara is a Ph.D. candidate in the Bio-Ontology Research Group (BORG) under the supervision of Professor Robert Hoehndorf.

Their project SentiMo is an artists algorithm that captures public sentiments of COVID-19 pandemic and combines it with the SARS-COV2 sequence to generate a mosaic art using GANs and CANs deep learning models.

SAAI–Super Artistic AI–Factory is an international contemporary art based hackathon on artificial intelligence.
